How my journey began

Where to begin… as far as journeys go, I have many. The picture above shows me on a canoe close to Big Bear in California where I would spend summers experiencing the great outdoors at the YMCA’s Camp Round Meadow in the San Bernardino National Forest. There I swam, hiked, canoed, took archery, arts and crafts, BMX biked, experienced a ropes course for the first time and, another first, I ended up with stitches on my head. I wish I could say I got those stitches by doing something adventurous, but it was a slip. When my mom got the call from Big Bear Hospital, I told her I wanted to stay at camp. I didn’t want to go home. So, I continued with my camp experience, continued to swim (this time with my head above water) and finished off the week.

Travel and exploration have always been a passion for me. My first job out of high school was for a major airline in Guatemala City and, to this day, it was one of my favorite jobs.

Although I love to travel throughout the United States and abroad, I find joy in exploring new places close to home or a short road trip away. I created this page to share these experiences with you and to encourage you to explore your neighborhood, neighboring towns or simply get out there and EXPLORE! Enjoy the journey!
